This policy explains what information zUdyog (“we”, “us”) collects when you use zudyog.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We only describe practices actually implemented in the product below — not boilerplate for features zUdyog doesn't have.
Information you provide directly
When you create an account or use zUdyog, you may give us:
- Name, username, email address, and password (we store only a one-way hash of your password, never the password itself)
- Optional profile details you choose to add: avatar image, headline, bio, location, website, skills
- Content you create: lessons, diagrams you upload, comments, and community descriptions
- If you sign in with Google, your name, email, and profile photo as shared by Google — we mirror the photo into our own storage so it keeps working if your Google photo URL changes
Information collected automatically
We use a small number of cookies and automated tools:
- Session cookie (
zudyog_session) — keeps you signed in. Strictly necessary; the site doesn't function without it. - Referral cookie (
zudyog_ref) — set only if you arrive via another member's shared link, so we can credit them if you later sign up. Expires after 30 days. - Google Analytics 4 — on the live site only (never during local development), we use GA4 to understand aggregate traffic and usage patterns. This uses its own cookies set by Google.
- Vercel Speed Insights — measures page load performance (e.g. how fast pages render for real visitors). It does not use cookies.
How we use your information
- To create and maintain your account, and let you sign in
- To show your content (lessons, comments, profile) to other members as you've configured your visibility settings
- To send account emails: verifying your email address, password reset links, and — only to members who haven't opted out — a weekly digest of new lessons from communities you've joined
- To understand how the product is used, in aggregate, so we can improve it
- To detect and prevent abuse (for example, rate-limiting repeated failed logins)
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where your data is stored
- Account and content data is stored in a PostgreSQL database (hosted via Supabase).
- Uploaded images (avatars, lesson diagrams, community images) are stored on Cloudflare R2.
- Transactional and digest emails are sent via Resend.
Your choices
- Weekly digest emails can be turned off anytime from Settings, or via the unsubscribe link in the email itself.
- Profile fields (headline, bio, location, website, skills, avatar) are all optional and editable from Settings.
- Account deletion or data export: zUdyog doesn't yet have a self-service delete-account button. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, email us at hello@zudyog.com from the email address on your account and we'll process the request.
Children
zUdyog is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of zUdyog after a change means you accept the updated policy.
